To use the EndNote plug-in, you must have EndNote X6 or later installed on your Mac. Learn how to get EndNote.

Endnote

If you add, delete, or move a cross-referenced footnote or endnote, you must update the cross-reference number. Hold down CONTROL, click the cross-reference number, and then click Update Field on the shortcut menu. Word updates cross-references automatically when you print. Footnotes and endnotes are used to explain, comment on, or provide references for text in a document. Footnotes are positioned at the bottom of the page, whereas endnotes are positioned together on a page at the end of the document. A footnote or an endnote consists of two parts — the note reference mark and the corresponding note text. I am having the same issue. Was fine in with previous version but most recent word update seems to have broken this. Interestingly, CWYW from endnote itself still works, just can't add references or go to endnote from within a word document. Mar 19, 2020  The EndNote plug-in should be added when you install EndNote on your computer. Note: If after installation, you do not see an EndNote Tab in Microsoft Word Ribbon or Tools Menu, Check Word Options Tab in Windows or Chooser in the Mac. Add an endnote Click where you want to add an endnote. Click References Insert Endnote. Word inserts a reference mark in the text and adds the endnote mark at the end of the document. Mar 19, 2020  Enabling Endnote version X7.8 in Word 365 for Mac I recently acquired a new Mac book computer and installed Microsoft Office 365. After installing Endnote version 7.8 I can't enable it in Word.

Before you download and install the EndNote plug-in, make sure you know what version of Pages you’re using. To check what version of Pages you have, open Pages, then choose Pages > About Pages.

If you’re using EndNote X9.3 or later, make sure that you have the right software versions installed:

  • If you’re using Pages 6.2 or later, download the latest version of the Pages EndNote plug-in.
  • If you’re not using Pages 6.2 or later, update Pages, then download the latest version of the Pages EndNote plug-in.
  • If you're using macOS Catalina, EndNote X9.3 is required.

If you’re using EndNote X9.2 or earlier, install the version of the Pages EndNote plug-in that works with your version of Pages:

  • If you’re using Pages 6.2 or later, download and install the Pages EndNote plug-in 3.1.
  • If you’re using a version of Pages between 5.0 and 6.1.1, download and install the Pages EndNote plug-in 2.0.

Add a citation

  1. Open your EndNote library.
  2. Open the document you want to add a citation to in Pages.
  3. Select the text you want to cite, then choose the Insert menu button > EndNote Citation. If EndNote Citation isn't available, go to the Document Inspector > Document tab and make sure Document Body is checked.
  4. In the EndNote Citation search window, search for the Author, Title or Year of the work you want to cite.
  5. Select the citation you want to add and preview the citation. If you don’t want an in-text citation, but want to add the source to your bibliography, make sure you select “Only insert into the bibliography.” Click Insert.
